The Practice Nurses

Mrs Catherine Macalaster
SRN SCM Family planning training,
Asthma Diploma.
Qualified as a general nurse in Dublin in 1979 and came to the UK to Princess
Anne hospital to study midwifery in 1982. She joined Burgess road as a practice
nurse in 1988.

Mrs Lisa Lucas RGN
Qualified as a Registered General Nurse (RGN) in 1989 and worked for 15 years on
the Neonatal Unit (Special Care Baby Unit) at Princess Anne Hospital. Moved into
Practice Nursing and worked in a Doctors surgery in Eastleigh for 7 years,
before moving to Burgess Road in 2010. Although she is the diabetes nurse at
Burgess Road Surgery, she covers all aspects of Practice Nursing, with the
exception of asthma and COPD.
Lorna
Gray BN
Is an Adult Nurse (BN) with additional qualifications in
ophthalmology and diabetes. She has worked at Burgess Road since 2004, prior to
which she was an Outpatient Sister and Clinical Educator at Southampton Eye
Unit.

Susan Walker BSc, RGN
Qualified in 1987 with a BSc/RGN after training at the Royal
Liverpool Hospital / University of Liverpool. She joined the Burgess Rd practice
in 2010, after 7 years working as a practice nurse in Wickham, and 12 years as a
district nurse (gained diploma in district nursing). She also has a diploma in
asthma care.
Jodi Adams
Is a registered nurse specializing in Asthma, COPD, CHD and minor illness. Jodi
has worked at Burgess Road as a practice nurse for 9 years and as an Ophthalmic
nurse for Burgess Road Eye Clinic for 4 years.
Deana,
Health Care Assistant.
The practice nurses are well qualified experienced professionals. They run daily clinics
Monday to Friday.
They can help you with Immunisations, Travel Health advice,
Contraceptive advice, Cervical smears, Ear Syringing, Removal of Stitches,
Dressings, Smoke Stop, Well-person checks, etc. The Practice Nurses
also help provide a wide range of services
with the Doctors.
